A survey of significant works in the field of English studies, beginnings to the 17th century, their historical, cultural, aesthetic, and rhetorical dimensions, from a number of critical perspectives. Course Information: Credit is not given for ENGL 208 if the student has credit in ENGL 241. Previously listed as ENGL 241. Recommended background: Completion of ENGL 161 and 3 hours from ENGL 101 -125.
